Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work with learners in a further education setting. You will support students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them access the curriculum and develop study skills in a respectful, inclusive environment.

You will work alongside teaching staff, adapt materials, monitor progress and provide feedback. The role suits someone patient with good communication, who can collaborate and stay proactive to help learners with

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll work alongside teaching staff at a further education provider to give learners the individual support they need to succeed. You'll play a key part in making sessions accessible, engaging and inclusive for every student.

Working across the classroom, you'll support learners on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them to build confidence, develop independence and stay on track with their studies.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting learners individually and in small groups to access the curriculum.
• Working closely with lecturers to adapt materials and activities to meet learner needs.
• Helping learners to build confidence, independence and study skills.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment.
• Monitoring learner progress and feeding back to teaching staff.

Desirable (but not essential):

• Previous experience supporting learners in an education setting
• A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning
• Experience working with learners with additional learning needs
