Job summary

Supply Hive Wales are recruiting a confident and experienced teaching assistant for a primary school in CF23, Cardiff. You will support learners with ALN, challenging behaviour, and 1:1 needs, building strong relationships with pupils and staff.

The role runs 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday during term time. DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain, and two references are required. Salary £93–£100 per day, UK right to work essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant teaching assistant qualifications or education degree.
• Experience supporting children with ALN and challenging behaviour.
• Ability to provide 1:1 support and small-group support.
• A patient, nurturing approach and teamwork ability.
• DBS and references as requested; UK right to work.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group pupil support.
• Help pupils access learning in inclusive ways.
• Support communication, behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Encourage independence and confidence in pupils.
• Work with the class teacher and support team to maintain a calm classroom.
• Contribute to a structured, positive learning environment.

Job description

Supply Hive Wales are working with a welcoming primary school in CF23 who are looking for a confident and experienced TA to join their LRB team. This role would suit someone who enjoys building strong relationships with pupils and is confident supporting children with additional learning needs, challenging behaviour and 1:1 support.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Helping pupils access learning in a way that works for them
• Supporting communication, behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Encouraging independence and confidence
• Working alongside the class teacher and wider support team
• Helping create a calm, structured and positive classroom environment

You'll need:

• A relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Supporting Teaching & Learning, CCLD or Health & Social Care qualification, HLTA qualification, or relevant Childhood/Education degree
• Previous experience supporting children with ALN, challenging behaviour or in a 1:1 setting
• A patient, consistent and nurturing approach
• Confidence working as part of a team

Other Requirements:

• DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service (Or willingness to obtain)
• 2 professional references
• The right to work in the UK
• Be 18 or over
