Job summary

SSE’s SSEN Distribution in the UK is hiring an Electrical Network Asset Inspector (Low-Voltage). Based at one of several locations, you will perform detailed inspections of LV cables, interact with customers and help keep the network safe and compliant.

You will travel across your area, secure access for inspections, and use handheld devices to record findings, supporting informed asset management decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical cables, meters, wiring and cable installations.
• Good knowledge of DNO operations and Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations.
• Familiar with COSHH regulations in practice.
• Understand distribution inspection procedures and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed inspections of low-voltage cables branching from the main distribution network.
• Gather and record information to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Identify asset defects and raise them through the proper channels, prioritising safety.
• Secure access by liaising with landowners, tenants and property managers, resolving refusals where needed.
• Represent the company professionally to customers during inspections.
