Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a compassionate Secondary SEN Teacher for a long-term placement in Peterborough through to Christmas. The role covers mixed Key Stages 3 & 4, with pupils who have ASC and complex needs, requiring planning and curriculum adaptation alongside personal care support.

Experience in SEN or differentiated learning is welcomed; you will lead planning, assess EHCP targets, and collaborate with Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 and small-group support while maintaining a

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required or QTLS considered.
• Proven experience teaching secondary-aged pupils with SEND.
• Full commitment to planning, assessment and resource preparation.
• Willingness to support personal care as part of daily routine.
• Team-Teach knowledge or moving and handling is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS disclosure or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver highly adapted schemes of work for diverse learners.
• Assist with personal care duties with dignity and respect.
• Maintain a safe, structured learning environment with positive behaviour strategies.
• Use alternative communication methods (PECS, Makaton, visual timetables).
• Lead and collaborate with Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Assess engagement and track progress against EHCP targets.
