Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Cover Supervisor to join its network of partner secondary schools in Coventry. You will supervise classes in the absence of teachers, deliver pre-set work and maintain a positive learning environment.

This long-term role offers the potential to secure permanent positions. A daily rate of £100–£120 is paid; DBS checks may be required where applicable. Candidates with experience with children and strong behaviour management are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting.
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to manage behaviour positively and effectively.
• A proactive, flexible and team-oriented approach with a commitment to safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absences.
• Deliver pre-set work and manage behaviour effectively.
• Support pupils' learning while contributing to the wider life of the school.
