Job summary

Fawkes & Reece are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established client for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a long-term contract based in Cardiff Bay.

As a Quantity Surveyor you will manage project costs from inception through to completion, ensuring costs are controlled while maintaining quality and programme requirements. Location: Cardiff Bay; Rate: £300 - £320 per day; Duration: 12 - 18 months; Start Date: ASAP; Hours: 07:30 - 17:30.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Experience on envelope, roofing, cladding or external envelope projects desirable.
• Strong understanding of contracts, cost management and commercial processes.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing project costs and budgets.
• Preparing and evaluating subcontractor packages and procurement.
• Producing valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Monitoring project expenditure and forecasting costs.
• Reviewing contracts and ensuring contractual compliance.
• Preparing cost reports and presenting commercial updates.
• Liaising with clients, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Supporting the successful commercial delivery of multiple projects.
