Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd seeks an ASD-focused SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with autism at a welcoming primary school in Hammersmith & Fulham. You will help the pupil access classroom learning and build confidence throughout the school day.

Role involves adapting activities, using visual supports, supporting communication and independence, and collaborating with the class teacher and SENCo to promote phonics, English and Maths learning.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Autism (ASD).
• Experience in a primary school, ideally KS1.
• Understanding of visual supports and autism-friendly strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with ASD.
• Adapt classroom activities to suit individual learning needs.
• Use visual resources and clear, structured instructions.
• Support communication, social interaction and independence.
• Help with classroom routines and transitions.
• Encourage engagement in phonics, English and Maths.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo.
