Job summary

Blok N Mesh is seeking an Assistant Depot Manager in Reading (RG7 4NU). You will support the Depot Manager with daily warehouse operations, supervise staff and help optimise logistics and supply chain processes.

This role suits someone with supervisory experience in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment, focusing on safety, accuracy and continuous improvement while delivering cost-efficient service to customers.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a logistics or warehouse environment.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and warehouse operations.
• Hands-on experience with TMS, WMS and ERP systems.
• Experience using AS400 platforms.
• Experience with shipping and receiving procedures.
• Excellent organisational skills with a strong focus on safety and accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to support and implement process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Depot Manager with daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving and inventory management.
• Supervise warehouse staff, ensuring safety procedures are followed and productivity targets are met.
• Coordinate Transportation Management Systems to optimise delivery schedules and freight movements.
• Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and improve service levels.
• Use Warehouse Management Systems and ERP systems to maintain inventory accuracy and streamline workflows.
• Oversee forklift operations, ensuring training, certification and safe handling of materials.
• Monitor profit and loss statements to support financial accountability and identify cost-saving opportunities.
