Job summary

Pertemps Southampton is seeking a Logistics Technician for a client in Newport on a full-time, temporary basis for an initial three months, with potential extension. The role covers receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of goods, reporting to the Logistics Manager, and maintaining stock integrity using SAP B1 and in-house systems.

Key duties include verifying deliveries, packing, documentation, and supporting stock counts and continuous improvement in a structured team setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, stores, stock control or inventory management.
• Experience using an ERP/stock management system.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Experience with couriers and shipping agents.
• Ability to lift and move boxes and work in a structured environment.
• Attention to detail and an organised approach.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming deliveries and book into stock accurately.
• Check delivery documents and certificates of conformance.
• Maintain stock records and report supplier performance as required.
• Pack finished goods for dispatch and ensure correct shipment documentation.
• Pick stock against works orders to support production.
• Receive internally produced items and maintain traceability.
• Maintain accurate stock levels and reconcile inventory.
• Support stock counts and improve stock flow.
• Keep the stores area organised, safe and tidy.
• Assist in process improvements and audits.
