Job summary

RTL Group Ltd in Exeter is recruiting an experienced Logistics Supervisor for a live construction project on a freelance contract with an immediate start. A valid DBS check is required, and SSSTS is preferred as a minimum.

You will run day-to-day site logistics, coordinating deliveries, RAMS verification, inductions, and safety compliance, while liaising with suppliers and the site team to keep the programme moving. This role offers ongoing work in the South West.

Qualifications

• Current DBS check required.
• SSSTS minimum; SMSTS welcome.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Experience as Logistics Supervisor or similar site logistics.
• RAMS paperwork and inductions experience.
• First Aid at Work and NEBOSH/IOSH advantageous.
• Comfortable on a busy site with competing priorities.
• Organised, proactive and confident with suppliers and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate deliveries, slots and site traffic on site.
• Produce, review and check RAMS from subcontractors and confirm site-specific.
• Deliver site inductions to operatives, visitors and subcontractors with records up to date.
• Enforce health and safety via toolbox talks, safety walks and audits.
• Manage lifting operations and plant movements with the site team.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, neighbours and local authority on access/closures.
• Resolve logistical issues to avoid delays to the programme.
• Supervise logistics and gate team; keep accurate project records.

Job description

We are recruiting an experienced Logistics Supervisor to join a live construction project in Exeter. This is a freelance contract role with an immediate start for the right person. A valid DBS check is required, and SSSTS is preferred as a minimum.

The Logistics Supervisor Role

You will run the day-to-day logistics operation on site, making sure labour, plant and materials move safely and efficiently without holding up the programme.

Day to day you will be:

• Planning and coordinating all deliveries, delivery slots and site traffic management
• Producing, reviewing and checking RAMS from subcontractors and confirming they are site-specific
• Delivering site inductions to operatives, visitors and subcontractors, and keeping records up to date
• Enforcing the site health and safety policy through toolbox talks, safety walks and audits
• Managing lifting operations and plant movements alongside the site team
• Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, neighbouring occupiers and the local authority on access and road closures
• Resolving logistical issues before they become programme delays
• Supervising the logistics and gate team and keeping accurate records across the project

About You - Logistics Supervisor

• A current DBS check is required for this role
• SSSTS as a minimum; SMSTS welcome but not essential
• Valid CSCS card
• Previous experience as a Logistics Supervisor or in a similar site logistics role
• Confident with RAMS paperwork and delivering site inductions
• First Aid at Work and NEBOSH/IOSH advantageous
• Comfortable working on a busy site with competing priorities
• Organised, proactive and confident dealing with suppliers, subcontractors and site teams
