Job Description:

We’re looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our Buyer Vendor Support (BVS) team at our Watford Head Office. The role involves acting as a strategic business partner to our buying teams, third-party logistics providers, and vendor community to ensure the efficient flow of goods through our supply chain.

The Logistics Specialist will focus on maximising profitability by identifying risks and seeking opportunities to improve the flow of goods, while adhering to customer protection standards and safeguarding the company's reputation.

The ideal candidate will understand the Buyers' strategies and challenges, and will work collaboratively to develop solutions that support maximising commercial opportunities, managing logistics costs, and maintaining off-price buying principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Buying Partnerships

  • Support the UK Buying office with buying deals, ensuring logistical objectives are met for efficient goods flow.
  • Partner proactively with buying teams, advising on best practices in a fast-paced, off-price environment, and suggesting creative solutions.
  • Act as the communication link between Logistics and Buying, managing stakeholder expectations with realistic and timely solutions.
  • Partner with vendors and buying teams to onboard vendors, ensuring compliance and understanding of TJX Europe’s requirements.
  • Represent TJX & Logistics during vendor visits.
  • Drive improvements in vendor behaviour through collaboration across teams, including cost mitigation initiatives.

Logistics Engagement & Partnership

  • Work with logistics teams and freight forwarders, using strong communication to address and resolve supply chain issues for quick fixes and long-term solutions.
  • Prioritise shipments and key deals by understanding business needs and using reporting tools to maintain and grow customer relationships.
  • Ensure process alignment with other BVS logistics teams on best practices and expectations.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, influence, and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous, dynamic retail environments.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, solve complex problems, and develop simple solutions; able to prioritise effectively.
  • Ability to build impactful relationships across diverse teams and influence results.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach and high personal responsibility.
  • Resilient and patient, especially when coaching cross-functionally.
