Sodexo Group is seeking a Logistics Services Manager to oversee Waste, Linen and Transport services at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Lead a multi-disciplinary team to drive operational excellence across a large healthcare campus.

As Logistics Services Manager, you will oversee Waste, Linen and Transport services across Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust's Oxford Road Campus, driving operational excellence, service improvement, sustainability initiatives and compliance. This is an exciting opportunity to influence service delivery across a large and complex healthcare setting while making a direct impact on patient, visitor and staff experience every day.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the day to day delivery of logistics services, ensuring operational performance, contractual compliance, and achievement of key business objectives.
• Manage workforce planning and labour resources effectively to maintain service excellence, achieve KPIs, and deliver efficient operational performance.
• Drive exceptional customer, patient, and visitor experiences by ensuring consistently high service standards and proactively addressing service improvement opportunities.
• Lead, develop, and inspire managers, supervisors, and frontline teams through effective coaching, performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement.
• Take responsibility for recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of direct reports, fostering a high performing and safety focused culture.
• Ensure compliance with all company, client, and Trust policies, procedures, and Health and Safety requirements, proactively managing risk and addressing non conformance.
• Build strong communication channels across all levels of the operation, ensuring colleagues remain informed, engaged, and aligned to organisational objectives and values.
• Support continuous improvement by implementing new policies, procedures, and operational initiatives that enhance service delivery, efficiency, and overall performance.

What You Bring:

• Proven operational management experience within Facilities Management, Logistics, Waste Management, or Support Services, ideally gained within a healthcare or similarly complex operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of waste management operations, including clinical, offensive, domestic, recycling, and hazardous waste streams. A CIWM qualification or membership (or equivalent) would be highly desirable.
• Sound understanding of waste legislation, Duty of Care requirements, compliance standards, auditing processes, and environmental sustainability initiatives, with a track record of driving waste reduction and recycling improvements.
• A people focused leader with experience of managing, developing, motivating, and coaching high performing teams, ensuring accountability and delivering operational excellence through managers, supervisors, and frontline colleagues.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, operational teams, and senior leaders, while effectively managing KPIs, SLAs, and contractual commitments.
• Strong knowledge of Health and Safety, risk management, and compliance, including risk assessments, incident investigations, safe systems of work, and the implementation of corrective actions.
• A results driven mindset with proven experience of analysing performance data, identifying efficiencies, controlling costs, and delivering continuous improvement initiatives within a fast paced operational environment.
• Experience within healthcare, NHS, PFI, or FM contract environments would be advantageous, alongside an understanding of the challenges of delivering critical support services in a patient focused setting.
