The Role: Logistics/Porter

The purpose of our Logistics/Porter is to work within BT's newer building, managing the flow of goods and items into, around, and out of the building on behalf of the FM team. Responsibilities include controlling the loading bay booking system, waste management, supporting back-of-house teams, and assisting with building events.

Key responsibilities:

  • Moving plants, equipment, furniture, deliveries, and materials around the site efficiently to support workstreams such as security, waste management, cleaning, catering, and postal services.
  • Supporting event logistics, including loading/unloading equipment and assisting with space moves, as well as signing in contractors.
  • Supporting the launch and training on the loading bay management system.
  • Managing traffic internally and externally, maintaining loading bay cleanliness, and reporting issues or equipment breakdowns.
  • Coordinating with contractors to meet the planned schedule and ensure space deconfliction.
  • Evaluating and supporting the implementation of delivery management booking systems.
  • Managing subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Supporting sustainability initiatives through waste management and recycling.
  • Undertaking the Control of Works Authorised Person (AP) role and supporting the identification of other APs and CPs.
  • Managing waste service providers to improve service delivery across the site.

  • Organized, able to prioritize and perform under pressure.
  • Effective team player.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and manual handling.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with attention to detail.
  • Proactive in seeking continuous improvement and embodying company values.
