Job description

Are you an experienced logistics professional with a passion for optimising routes and ensuring seamless operations?

Adept Resourcing Commercial Division are working exclusively with our waste management client in Sheffield as they recruit an experienced Logistics Planner. This is a standalone role with comprehensive support from the Senior Operations Manager and the Service Team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and oversee optimal servicing routes, considering traffic, vehicle capacity, and time restrictions
2. Monitor driver progress and adjust routes to ensure daily coverage
3. Ensure profitability while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
4. Plan driver start times and ensure alignment with site operating schedules
5. Track and report daily roll-over statistics
6. Identify and report data entry inaccuracies for timely corrections
7. Communicate with key site stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate service delivery

Required Skills/Abilities:

1. Strong understanding of logistics and transport planning
2. Ability to forward-plan and think strategically
3. Familiarity with HGV driving regulations (or willingness to learn)
4. Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail
5. Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook

Additional Information:

1. Location: Sheffield (close to public transport links with free parking available)
2. Salary: Up to £30,000
3. Hours: Monday to Friday, flexible start between 8:00 am-9:30 am, finish between 5:30 pm-6:00 pm
4. Holidays: 22 days plus bank holidays
