Job summary

Freightliner Southampton is seeking a Multi Skilled Operative to join our operations team. The role involves loading and unloading HGVs, shunting containers, and operating container-handling equipment using our advanced vehicle booking and yard systems.

Comprehensive training is provided, and no prior experience is required. We offer a permanent, full-time position with a 50-hour week on a rotating schedule, starting early mornings to ensure smooth yard operations.

Qualifications

• Role involves loading/unloading HGVs and shunting containers.
• Full UK driving licence required; safety-focused.
• Comprehensive training provided; no prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Service vehicles with the correct containers in a safe and timely manner.
• Stack and move shipping containers.
• Shunt containers to and from the terminal.
• Operate container-handling equipment safely.
• Communicate with yard team and Terminal Coordinators to ensure efficient operations and timely availability of correct containers.
• Maintain highest standards of health and safety at all times.
