Job summary

Freightliner in Cardiff is seeking a Multi Skilled Operative to join our Operations team. You will load and unload HGVs and freight trains using lifting equipment and cranes, ensuring safe arrivals and departures.

This safety-critical role requires flexibility for day and night shifts, some Saturday work, and compliance with health and safety standards. Training and development are provided, with a focus on safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Be comfortable working at height.
• Have a can-do attitude.
• Be flexible with shift patterns; Saturday working on a rota basis.

Responsibilities

• Operate gantry cranes, heavy lifting and plant equipment safely.
• Carry out safe arrival and departure of freight trains.
• Safely conduct train shunting duties per Local Working Instructions.
• Check container locking mechanisms.
• Communicate with Yard team and Terminal Coordinators for efficient operations.
• Maintain high health and safety standards at all times.
