Job summary

Red Door Recruitment is recruiting for a Logistics Operations Coordinator in St Albans to join an established logistics company. The role focuses on coordinating freight movements across Europe and the UK, with emphasis on accuracy, communication and strong customer service.

You will negotiate with clients and suppliers to secure cost-effective solutions, prepare customs documentation, and build strong client relationships in a fast-paced, office-based environment.

Qualifications

• Ideally experience of logistics and supply chain management, either from working with a manufacturer, transport company or freight forwarder.
• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
• A professional, positive and helpful attitude
• Commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate directly with clients and suppliers and identify and exploit opportunities to increase both turnover and more importantly profit
• Presentable, energetic and enthusiastic
• Strong organisational skills with an excellent memory

Responsibilities

• Organising the movement of freight across Europe and the UK
• Communicating accurately in written and verbal form complex instructions to both Customers and Suppliers
• Negotiating with both Customers and Suppliers to achieve most cost-effective solution.
• Providing the highest standards of Customer Service
• Processing Customer orders with an emphasis on attention to detail
• Compiling customs documentation to facilitate shipment of freight in to and from Europe
• Building very strong relationships with clients, principally through verbal engagement
