Job summary
The JobsBoard is seeking a Senior Freight Operations Coordinator in St Albans to manage UK and European freight movements from instruction to delivery. This permanent role offers a £40,000 salary and an opportunity to join a busy, experienced logistics team.
You will negotiate rates, liaise with customers and carriers, prepare import/export documentation and help improve margins while delivering excellent service.
Qualifications
- Experience in freight forwarding, European road freight, shipping or logistics.
- Knowledge of freight operations and import/export procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Negotiation with customers and suppliers.
- Commercial mindset with attention to detail.
- Organised and energetic in a busy logistics environment.
- Full UK driving licence required.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating UK and European freight movements.
- Managing shipments from customer instruction through to delivery.
- Liaising with customers, hauliers, carriers and suppliers.
- Negotiating competitive rates and cost-effective freight solutions.
- Preparing customs and import/export documentation.
- Building strong relationships with customers.
- Resolving operational issues and keeping shipments moving.
- Identifying opportunities to improve margins and profitability.
- Delivering excellent customer service throughout.
