Job summary

BOC Limited, a Linde company, Uttoxeter is seeking a Logistics Officer to coordinate domestic and international logistics, including gas samples and calibration gas cylinders, ensuring timely and compliant transport.

You will liaise with approved providers for air, sea and road; manage transport, customs, export and dangerous goods documentation; work with the DGSA to meet current regulations; operate forklifts and maintain a safe warehouse.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills for dealing with team and stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Good organisational ability to work independently or in a team.
  • IT literacy and ability to use bespoke software systems, MS Word and Excel, and database software.
  • Fork lift truck license.
  • Previous warehouse or logistics experience.
  • Appreciation of manual handling.
  • Knowledge of transport of dangerous goods (ADR/IATA) would be an advantage; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all domestic and international logistics activities, including shipment and collection of gas samples and calibration gas cylinders.
  • Liaise with approved logistics providers to arrange transportation by air, sea, and road.
  • Prepare and manage transport, customs, export, and dangerous goods documentation ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Work with the Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) to ensure adherence to current legislation and transport requirements.
  • Prepare, package, label, palletise and dispatch consignments in line with transport and safety standards.
  • Manage goods inward and outward processes including receiving, inspecting, storing, and dispatching products.
  • Operate forklifts and other mechanical handling equipment to load, unload and move goods safely across sites.
  • Maintain a safe, organised warehouse environment and monitor stock levels of packaging and palletisation materials.

What Makes You Great


  • You should possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, required for dealing on a regular one-to-one basis with members of your team and other stakeholders

  • You will have sound organisational ability with the capacity to work individually or within the team

  • You will be IT literate and have the adaptability to use bespoke software systems, Microsoft Word and Excel and database software.

  • Fork lift truck license

  • Previous warehouse or logistics experience

  • Appreciation of manual handling

  • Knowledge of transport of dangerous goods, in accordance with ADR and IATA regulations would be an advantage however training will be provided
