Job summary

Gems Setra is seeking a proactive Materials and Logistics Leader to oversee procurement, stock control and shipping to ensure on-time delivery and compliance. You will manage the Materials and Logistics team, drive accurate inventory and performance reporting, and coordinate domestic and international shipments.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, Kaizen, and cross-functional collaboration with other departments.

Qualifications

• Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system within a logistics, stores, materials or supply chain environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, rotation, FIFO, stock accuracy and cycle counting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and reporting tools.
• Confident people leader with the ability to coach, mentor and engage others.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible and consistent leadership to the Materials and Logistics team with clear priorities and defined ownership.
• Coach, mentor and develop direct reports with regular feedback and performance discussions.
• Ensure domestic and international shipping activities are completed accurately, compliantly and on time.
• Lead effective daily stand-up meetings to review safety, quality, delivery, inventory and priorities.
• Maintain inventory and stock control processes including cycle counting and issue resolution.
• Provide accurate monthly reporting on team performance, stock control and despatch performance.
• Drive continuous improvement across materials handling, stores and replenishment processes.
• Resolve shipping problems by liaising with carriers for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Develop relationships with carrier account managers to improve efficiency.
