Job summary

VanRath is recruiting on behalf of a regional transport and distribution client based in Northern Ireland. The role leads a five-location distribution operation, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant deliveries while supporting the Directors and driving customer care.

You will supervise drivers and routing teams, plan routes, monitor hours and tachographs, and work with HR on recruitment and training, all within a culture of safety and continuous improvement for the business.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in transport/logistics.
• Extensive knowledge of transport regulations and compliance.
• Knowledge of NI geography and routing planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee distribution dept across five locations.
• Plan routes in line with drivers hours regulations.
• Communicate with sales for smooth deliveries.
• Monitor driver hours, tachographs, and legislation.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and repairs.
• Support driver recruitment, onboarding and training with HR.
• Investigate transport incidents and documentation.
• Oversee depot management: storage, water dips, quality.
• Maintain driver logs and timesheets.

About you

• Proven supervisory experience within the transport or logistics sector
• Extensive knowledge of transport regulations and compliance standards
• Possession of category C + E driving licence; ADR licence and CPC qualification are desirable
• Excellent understanding of Northern Ireland's geography and routing planning
• Strong organisational skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
