Job summary

Pertemps Crawley is seeking a Dispatcher for a temporary - ongoing role in Crawley. The successful candidate will coordinate daily dispatches, book shipments with DHL, FedEx and other couriers, and liaise with couriers and internal teams to resolve issues.

We require prior dispatch/logistics experience, strong communication skills, and good IT/system knowledge. Working hours are Mon-Fri 07:30-16:30 with a salary of £32,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Previous dispatch/logistics experience is essential.
• Proven experience dealing directly with courier companies such as DHL, FedEx or similar.
• Strong understanding of the dispatch and delivery process.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Confident dealing with couriers, customers and internal departments.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Good IT skills and experience using dispatch/logistics systems.
• Proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and managing daily dispatches and deliveries
• Booking shipments with courier companies including DHL, FedEx and other third-party carriers
• Liaising directly with couriers regarding collections, deliveries and delivery issues
• Preparing and processing shipping and dispatch documentation
• Tracking shipments and providing updates to customers and internal teams
• Investigating and resolving delivery delays, failed deliveries and other courier issues
• Ensuring goods are dispatched accurately and on time
• Working closely with warehouse, customer service and logistics teams
• Maintaining accurate dispatch and courier records
• Monitoring courier performance and escalating any recurring issues
• Managing multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
