Job Purpose

Logistics Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods at all times, managing customs clearance processes, and optimizing logistics operations. This role requires a strong understanding of logistics, customs regulations, and international trade practices. The incumbent will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including suppliers, carriers, government agencies as well as internal teams, to ensure seamless coordination and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations in relation to logistics management.

This is a hybrid working role that will be based in our Coventry office.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for making shipment arrangements for inbound and outbound.
  • Carry out cost comparisons with transport companies and freight forwarders to ensure advantageous shipping rates.
  • Perform and implement all inbound and outbound logistics activities such as customs clearance, shipment tracking, documentation checking and preparation, and other day-to-day related activities in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Following up with suppliers on complete shipping documents for customs and compliance purposes.
  • Oversee all freight assignments and proactively follow up on all shipment related activities until assignments are completed.
  • Examining invoices and shipping manifests to ensure conformity to tariff and customs regulations.
  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any shipment related issues.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in logistics operations.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proactive and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong Attention to detail and problem-solving approach.
  • Effectively manage work priorities with a sense of urgency.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to analyse data and develop reports.
  • Identify and address logistic risks imminently.
  • Experience in chemical and DG goods.
  • In-depth knowledge of customs regulation, tariff and classifications.
