Job summary

Wilson James is seeking a Logistics Chargehand for the Hinkley Point C site in Somerset. The role involves supervising operatives, ensuring safety, and keeping documentation up to date against RAMS and HPC processes.

You will train staff, conduct quality checks, and maintain tidy work areas while coordinating with the Logistics Manager in a fast-paced nuclear infrastructure environment.

Qualifications

• CITB Supervisory H&S test must be completed before start date.
• Experience supervising a blue/white collar workforce.
• SSSTS or working towards certification is required or encouraged.
• Solid IT skills to manage documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise operatives to ensure safe, compliant work on site.
• Record and audit works and RAMS/DABS in line with HPC processes.
• Deliver familiarisation and competency training for staff.
• Maintain organised, clean work areas and perform quality checks.

Job title: Logistics Chargehand - Days

Location: Site-based at Hinkley Point C, Somerset

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £24.24 per hour

Working Hours: 40.25 hours per week on average

Working Pattern: Varied,working 12-hour shifts, from 18:00 to 06:00, on a 4 on, 5 off, 5 on, 4 off, 5 on, 5 off working pattern

As a Logistics Chargehand, you will be responsible in ensuring that works are completed and documentation is recorded accurately and timely.

You will be reporting to the Logistics Manager and your main role will be to supervise operatives ensuring they are working safely in line with RAMS, DABS and HPC processes.

You will be responsible for delivering familiarisation and competency training, and you will keep records for audit purposes. You will ensure that all designated working areas are set up correctly, and kept organised, clean, tidy and free from obstruction. You will carry out quality checks on works carried out by the operatives and provide support from an operational perspective when required. This will be a very busy role with conflicting priorities, and we are looking for someone who wants to join us who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to work with blue and white collar workforce. You will be part of a great team, who are supportive and friendly.

Site Specific Information

• You must be able to provide a 3-year work/ unemployment/ education history and required vetting process in line with HPC protocols.


• You must be able to obtain the HPC pass.


• The site is located remotely and a bus journey of approximately 45 minutes each way is required to gain access.
