Job summary

Red The Consultancy seeks a Logistics Assistant in Gourock for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will support fleet spares, equipment and technical materials, ensuring efficient storage, stock control and distribution to keep vessels safe and reliable.

Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, you will assist with stock records, procurement support and dispatch coordination, while operating forklift and other warehouse equipment as needed. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in logistics, warehouse or stores environment.
• Experience in a fast-paced warehouse or high-racking facility.
• A full current driving licence.
• Experience with spare parts, inventory control and stock management.
• Experience in a technical, engineering, maritime or transport environment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating and prioritising logistics for fleet spares and equipment.
• Receive, store and issue technical parts, consumables and equipment.
• Maintain accurate stock records and item location tracking.
• Operate computerised stock control systems and support inventory management.
• Assist with stocktaking programmes and ensure inventory procedures are followed.
• Support sourcing and procurement of spare parts and materials for vessel maintenance.
• Coordinate dispatch and return of equipment for repair.
• Operate forklift and warehouse equipment as required (training possible).
• Maintain records of maintenance schedules for plant and machinery.
• Ensure company vehicles are maintained and serviced.
• Support logistics across the company network, including travel to ports and shipyards.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Supporting logistics activity across the company network, including travel to ports, vessels and shipyards subject to business demands.
• Promoting safe working practices and ensuring compliance with all health and safety procedures.
