Job summary

Wilson James has a site-based Logistics Operative role at Hinkley Point C in Somerset. The position offers a permanent contract with an average 40.25 hours per week and a starting rate of £15.72 per hour, rising to £17.77 after completing the progression pathway. Expect early start times and shifts on a four-on, five-off rotation.

You will support with signage installation, waste management, stock control, and contractor coordination while upholding HPC safety codes and standards on site.

Working within dedicated teams, as a construction Logistics Operative you will be supporting with a variety of tasks including the following:

• Installing way finding and emergency signage.
• Waste management & segregation.
• General housekeeping.
• General receipt & stock control of consumables & equipment.
• Providing general support to various contractors across Hinkley Point C.
• General vehicle maintenance & housekeeping.
• Ensure that HPC code of conduct is followed at all times.

What do we need from you:

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

• A CITB Operative H&S test (to be completed before the start date).
• Good communication skills.
• The ability to understand Safe Systems of work.
• To demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in unsafe conditions.
• To maintain a good work ethic and routine.
• To be able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

• Experience of working within the construction Industry.
• Knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical Tooling and consumables.
• Understanding logistics limitations and regulation.

Site Specific Information:

• You must be able to provide a 3-year work history and required vetting process in line with HPC protocols.
• You must be able to obtain the HPC pass.
• The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access.
