Glen Dessary Lodge, a remote Highland retreat, is seeking an experienced Lodge Host/Housekeeper to look after guests during their stay.

You will lead high-standard housekeeping, welcome guests, provide front-of-house service and assist with kitchen duties, working a split day aligned to bookings.

Accommodation on site is provided. Own transport is essential due to remote location; this casual/contract role offers dates based on bookings.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-standard housekeeping and guest service.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys the outdoors, beautiful surroundings and providing a genuinely high level of hospitality.

The successful person will become the main point of contact for guests during their stay and will take responsibility for ensuring that the lodge is presented, maintained and run to an excellent standard.

What the role involves

The role is varied and combines

high-standard housekeeping, guest hosting, front-of-house service and kitchen assistance.

Duties will include:

• Preparing the lodge to an exceptionally high standard before guests arrive
• Full housekeeping of bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas
• Changing beds and preparing linen and towels
• Laundry and general housekeeping duties
• Ensuring the lodge is beautifully presented for guest arrival
• Welcoming guests and being their main point of contact throughout their stay
• Providing a friendly, discreet and professional service
• Setting and clearing tables
• Washing dishes and keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and organised
• Assisting with food preparation and general kitchen duties when required
• Keeping communal areas presentable throughout the guests' stay
• Checking supplies and reporting any maintenance issues, damage or other concerns

Guest groups are normally 12 to15 people, with additional help provided for larger parties.

Working pattern

This is casual/contract work, with dates offered according to the lodge's bookings. Advance notice of several months is typical for each assignment.

A typical working day is a split shift:

7.00am – 12.00/1.00pm

3.30pm – 10.00/11.00pm

The number of days will vary depending on bookings. Generally ranging from 3 to 7 days for each booking.

About the location

Glen Dessary Lodge is extremely remote, and this is an important part of the role.

Accommodation is provided on the estate while working andall food is provided, so you would live on site during your working period.

This would suit someone who genuinely enjoys the outdoors, remote Highland locations and the experience of working in a beautiful and unusual environment.

Own reliable transport is essential for getting to and from the estate.
