Job summary

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust in Salisbury is seeking a Consultant Plastic Surgeon to join the busy Plastic Surgery department and contribute to the Major Trauma Centre at University Hospital Southampton.

The post requires CCT in Plastic Surgery, GMC registration, and evidence of microsurgical trauma limb reconstruction; you will lead trauma services, support junior staff, and participate in governance and teaching.

Qualifications

• Possession / within 6 months of possession of CCT in Plastic Surgery, leading to entry onto GMC Specialist Register.
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.

Responsibilities

• Develop Trauma services within Salisbury Foundation Trust and University Hospital Southampton to improve timely patient management.
• Manage general plastic surgery patients within the department.
• Coordinate theatre lists with bookings team for optimal utilisation.
• Engage in the Cinapsis system for advice and guidance requests.
• Participate in clinical governance and Morbidity & Mortality reviews.
• Provide clinical leadership and teaching for junior doctors and staff.
• Join the consultant on-call rota to ensure timely senior assessment and decisions.
