Job summary

Venn Group's specialist legal team is recruiting a Principle Prosecutions Lawyer to join a reputable local authority in the Midlands on a locum, rolling contract basis. This role offers initial term of 3-6 months with full-time or part-time options (minimum 3 days per week), predominantly remote, with once-a-week court attendance.

Initial IT collection will also be in person. Duties include prosecutions under the Trademarks Act 1994 and Tobacco Regulations, and providing regulatory/enforcement

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX with Litigation and Advocacy rights.
• Experience in handling Prosecutions matters.
• Experience working on behalf of Local Authorities.

Responsibilities

• Prosecution of cases under the Trademarks Act 1994 and Tobacco Regulations.
• Providing legal advice across regulatory and enforcement matters, including Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Licensing, Planning and Waste Enforcement.
• Attending Court on behalf of the Local Authority when necessary.
• Reviewing work to ensure a high standard and compliance with legal requirements.

Venn group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Principle Prosecutions Lawyer to join a reputable local authority in the Midlands.

This is a Locum position, on a rolling contract basis with an initial term of 3-6 months. Full time OR part time candidates will be considered (minimum 3 days per week), predominantly remote working, with once-a-week court attendance. Initial IT collection will also be in person.

Rate: Up to £60-65 per hour (Umbrella)

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX with Litigation and Advocacy rights
• Experience in handling Prosecutions matters
• Can demonstrate prior experience working on behalf of Local Authorities.
