Venn Group is recruiting a Locum Prosecutions Lawyer to join a reputable local authority in the Midlands. The role is a rolling 3-6 month contract, full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days per week), with predominantly remote working and weekly court attendance. Initial IT collection will be in person.

Area of law: Prosecutions. Rate: Up to £60-65 per hour (Umbrella). Ideal candidate: Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX with Litigation and Advocacy rights; proven prosecutions experience; prior work for

Locum Prosecutions Lawyer - Midlands - 3-6 months + - Hybrid (Predominantly Remote) - Up to £60-65 per hour Umbrella

Venn group's specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Principle Prosecutions Lawyer to join a reputable local authority in the Midlands.

This is a Locum position, on a rolling contract basis with an initial term of 3-6 months. Full time OR part time candidates will be considered (minimum 3 days per week), predominantly remote working, with once-a-week court attendance. Initial IT collection will also be in person.

Area of law: Prosecutions

Rate: Up to £60-65 per hour (Umbrella)

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX with Litigation and Advocacy rights
• Experience in handling Prosecutions matters
• Can demonstrate prior experience working on behalf of Local Authorities.

Duties and responsibilities for this post may include:

• Prosecution of cases under the Trademarks Act 1994 and Tobacco Regulations
• Providing legal advice across a range of regulatory and enforcement matters, including Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Licensing, Planning and Waste Enforcement
• Attending Court on behalf of the Local Authority when necessary
• Reviewing work to ensure a high standard and compliance with legal requirements
