Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant to join a GP practice in Livingston. You will support the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity, helping to keep patient flow smooth.

In this locum role, you’ll perform clinical observations, assist with treatment room procedures, and contribute to high-quality care delivery. Ad-hoc or regular sessions available, with morning/afternoon blocks to suit you.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS is desirable.
• Phlebotomy experience is desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS is required.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
