Locum Ready requires a Locum Practice Nurse to join a GP practice in Weston-super-Mare. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, immunisations, wound care and routine clinic duties within a structured primary care setting.

The nurse will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative work and treatment room activity, supported by well-organised workflows and nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with experience in primary care.
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsabilités

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system
