About the Role

We are seeking an experienced individual to manage the accurate processing of employee salary payments across our five in-house payrolls. The role involves producing monthly reports, journals, and payments to third parties. You should be organized, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to make a significant impact.

This position is based in our Basingstoke office with a hybrid working model. It is offered on a full-time, fixed-term contract basis.

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate employee data input for each payroll.
  2. Import and amend data links from HR systems.
  3. Manage statutory payments.
  4. Maintain Auto Enrolment compliance and reconcile pension contributions.
  5. Manage the Payroll Inbox.
  6. Export, balance, and reformat reports from the Payroll System for upload into our Accounts Package.
  7. Check and request payments for third parties.
  8. Set up new reports from the payroll system as needed.
  9. Respond to queries from internal and external contacts and escalate when necessary.
  10. Calculate and check manual payments as required.
  11. Maintain payroll and benefit records to ensure statutory compliance and operational effectiveness.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Experience with SD Worx payroll system (advantageous).
  • Experience with Workday HRIS.
  • Proven experience handling complex payrolls.
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced environment.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation (SMP/SHPP/SAP/SSP).
  • Proficiency in Windows applications, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organized.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Team player attitude.
  • GCSE level education or equivalent.

Desirable:

  • Payroll qualifications.
  • Experience with Workday HRIS and SD Worx.
