About the Role

We are seeking an experienced individual to manage the accurate processing of employee salary payments across five in-house payrolls. The role involves producing monthly reports, journals, and payments to third parties. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to make a significant impact.


This position is based in our Basingstoke office with a hybrid working model. It is offered on a full-time, fixed-term contract basis.

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate employee data input for each payroll.
  2. Import data links from HR systems, making amendments as needed.
  3. Manage statutory payments.
  4. Maintain Auto Enrolment compliance and reconcile pension contributions for each scheme.
  5. Handle the Payroll Inbox.
  6. Export, balance, and reformat reports from the Payroll System for upload into our Accounts Package.
  7. Check and request payments to third parties.
  8. Set up new reports from the payroll system as required.
  9. Respond to queries from internal and external contacts, escalating when necessary.
  10. Calculate and verify manual payments.
  11. Maintain payroll and benefit records to comply with statutory regulations and support effective payroll processing.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Experience with the SD Worx payroll system is advantageous.
  • Experience with Workday HRIS.
  • Proven experience managing complex payrolls.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasked, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working within a team setting.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, including SMP/SHPP/SAP/SSP.
  • Proficiency with Windows applications, especially MS Word and Excel.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organized.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Team player attitude.
  • GCSE level education or equivalent.

Desirable:

  • Payroll qualifications and experience with Workday HRIS and SD Worx are advantageous.
