About the Role

We are seeking an experienced individual responsible for accurately processing employee salary payments across our five in-house payrolls. The role involves producing monthly reports, managing journal entries, and coordinating payments to third parties. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to make a significant impact.

This position is based in our Basingstoke office with a hybrid working model and is offered on a full-time, fixed-term contract basis.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate data input for each payroll cycle.
2. Import data links from HR systems and amend as necessary.
3. Manage statutory payments.
4. Maintain Auto Enrolment compliance and reconcile pension contributions for each scheme.
5. Manage the Payroll Inbox.
6. Export, balance, and reformat reports from the Payroll System for upload into our Accounts Package.
7. Check and request payments to third parties.
8. Create new reports from the payroll system as required.
9. Respond to queries from internal and external contacts, escalating when necessary.
10. Calculate and check manual payments as needed.
11. Maintain payroll and benefit records to comply with statutory regulations and ensure effective payroll processing.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

• Experience with SD Worx payroll system is advantageous.
• Experience with Workday HRIS.
• Proven experience working with complex payrolls.
• Ability to work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced environment.
• Experience working within a team environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, including SMP/SHPP/SAP/SSP.
• Proficiency in Windows applications, especially MS Word and Excel.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Highly organized.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Confident communication skills.
• Team player mentality.
• GCSE standard education or equivalent.

Desirable:

• Payroll qualifications and experience with Workday HRIS and SD Worx are advantageous.
