Job summary

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Interventional Radiologist to join a 13-consultant radiology team at Walsall Manor Hospital. The role involves non-vascular and some vascular image-guided interventions, with duties across general and acute radiology reporting to support the department’s KPIs.

The candidate should have GMC registration, a minimum of 2 years IR experience, and may have FRCR; 1 year IR fellowship or equivalent desirable.

Qualifications

• MBChB/MBBS or equivalent
• FRCR fellowship
• Full GMC registration with license to practice
• MSc or PhD in radiology or health-related field
• Postgraduate radiology exams such as European Diploma in Radiology

Responsibilities

• Provide Interventional Radiology services and advise on appropriate cases
• Support 7-day working with resident onsite radiologist coverage
• Liaise with other hospital departments, emergency services, GP surgeries and tertiary centres
• Lead clinically on a subspecialty area and supervise junior medical staff
• Prioritise imaging requests and contribute to clinical governance
• Develop the service through audits, evidence-based pathways and IT infrastructure
• Participate in REALM meetings and contribute to continuous improvement in radiology
• Collaborate with organisations within the Black Country STP
