Job summary

Pulse Staffing Limited is recruiting a Band 4 Locum Associate Practitioner to join an NHS Histology lab in Yorkshire. The role involves routine Histology procedures, specimen preparation, embedding, and microtomy, supporting diagnostic delivery and maintaining high quality records.

You will work full-time, Monday to Friday, with a competitive hourly rate and ongoing opportunities to develop specialised lab skills in a professional environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a Histology laboratory environment.
• Practical experience supporting Histology processes, including specimen preparation, embedding, microtomy, and laboratory procedures.
• Ability to work methodically and maintain accurate records.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Teamplayer with proactive workload management.

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine Histology laboratory procedures in line with policies and quality standards.
• Assist with specimen preparation, embedding, microtomy, and processing as training allows.
• Support preparation of Histology specimens for diagnostic examination.
• Contribute to efficient running of the laboratory service.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Assist in monitoring stock levels and maintaining equipment.
• Adhere to health and safety, quality management, and infection control procedures.
• Work with Biomedical Scientists and wider team to ensure service delivery.
• Participate in training and competency assessments as required.
