Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum HCA to support a GP practice in Barking. You will perform routine clinical duties, assist with patient assessments and maintain smooth room operations within a busy primary care setting.

Ideal candidates have prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS, with the ability to take clinical observations, assist with ECGs, and maintain accurate records. DBS clearance is required, and shifts can be ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
