Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Matlock. The role involves assisting with routine clinical duties, patient assessments and managing treatment room activity in a proactive primary care setting.

You will help maintain patient flow, conduct observations, assist with ECGs and phlebotomy if trained, and provide lifestyle advice to promote health. DBS checks are required to work in the NHS environment.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
