Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Locum HCA to support a GP practice in Cheltenham. You will manage patient flow, assist with routine clinical duties and contribute to high-quality care delivery in a structured primary care setting.

The role requires experience as an HCA in primary care or the NHS, with DBS enhanced, and comfort with clinical observations and IT documentation. Flexible ad-hoc or regular sessions available.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• DBS Enhanced.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
