Locum Debt Lawyer (Housing and Civil Litigation)

Local Authority in a Home County

6 month initial period with possibility for extension

35 hours per week, 1 day per week in the office

Are you an experienced Debt Lawyer with expertise in Housing and Civil Litigation? Venn Group is assisting a well-renowned local authority in a Home County in their search for a Debt Lawyer (Housing and Civil Litigation) on a locum basis for an initial 6-month period, with potential for extension.

Requirements:

• A valid practising certificate in England as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX
• Post-qualification experience in debt matters and civil litigation
• Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules, CIL, and s106 debts
• Experience handling caseloads related to Adult Social Care and debt cases
• Proven experience managing multi-track claims
• Experience working within local authorities or for a housing association

Responsibilities:

• Advising clients of the organisation on all aspects of Debt Law and providing representation when necessary
• Conducting and advocating at hearings
• Advising officers and members proactively and sensitively
• Mentoring and training less experienced team members
• Supporting senior lawyers and deputising as needed
• Working efficiently under tight deadlines
