Locum Commercial Lawyer - South West - Remote Working – £60 Umbrella

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Lawyer to join a Local Authority based in South West on an interim basis.

This is a full-time position, offered for an initial term of 3 months with likely extension thereafter. Occasional attendance for meetings is desirable, but the position can otherwise be worked remotely.

An hourly rate of up to £60 via umbrella is offered for this role.

Duties and responsibilities may include:

1. Specialising in procurement, contracts, and development projects
2. Protecting the interests of the Authority by advising upon, drafting, and negotiating legal agreements
3. Providing expert legal advice to various in-house clients across all directorates
4. Advising on contracts and procurement work in the post-Brexit environment
5. Completing contracts on behalf of the Authority
6. Advising on development projects
7. Advising on legal matters affecting a public body more generally
