Locum Senior Commercial Property Lawyer – South West – £55-£60 Umbrella – Remote Working

Venn Group’s specialist public sector legal team is assisting a South West Local Authority in appointing a Locum Senior Commercial Property Lawyer to join their team.

This is a full-time, remote position for an initial duration of 6 months. The successful candidate will be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEx), preferably with prior public sector experience.

The role involves handling a varied caseload of complex and high-value commercial property matters with minimal supervision. Duties include:

1. Overseeing all aspects of commercial property matters including leases, disposals, acquisitions, overage, and development agreements
2. Managing and advising on development, sale, lease, and other transactions involving public sector land holdings
3. Providing expert advice on local authority land transactions
4. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and governance standards
5. Offering strategic and practical advice to clients on property matters
6. Developing solutions to complex property issues to meet client needs efficiently
7. Supervising junior and non-qualified team members

An hourly umbrella rate of £55-£60 is offered for this role.
