Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Locum Consultant Plastic Surgeon with a Special Interest in Burns to join the regional burns service in the Midlands. The post covers adult and paediatric burns, with opportunities to pursue subspecialties and to contribute across QEHB and BCH.

The role includes 1:7 burns on-call duties, participation in the Burns MDT, and active involvement in teaching, research, and clinical governance to maintain high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• FRCS(Plast) or EBOPRAS completed.
• Full GMC registration with license to practise.
• EMSB completed or in post-equivalence.

Responsibilities

• Participate in 1:7 burns on-call rota across QEHB and BCH.
• Contribute to Burns MDT meetings and teaching.
• Support research, audits, and publish findings where possible.
• Engage in clinical governance to monitor and develop care quality.
