Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a Band 6/7 Locum Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the Reading area, working with paediatric clients in mainstream and special schools. The role focuses on assessment, SMART goal setting, and therapy planning, with reports for EHCPs and flexible hours.

The position requires HCPC registration, Enhanced DBS, a full UK driving license, and experience with paediatric clients. The role is on-site in Reading/Wokingham, with a 30-hour week.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• Enhanced DBS check is required.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car for work.
• Experience with paediatric clients in mainstream and special school settings is preferred.
• Ability to write SMART goals and produce clear therapy reports and plans.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage caseloads effectively.
• Strong communication with children, families and educational staff.

Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language and communication needs of children in both mainstream and special schools.
• Devise therapy plans and SMART goals to address identified needs and contribute to EHCP reports.
• Prepare concise, evidence-based reports and recommendations for the EHCP process.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and carers to implement therapy plans and monitor progress.
