Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioner to work in Gateshead GP practice. You will autonomously assess and manage diverse presentations, deliver evidence-based care, and support a multidisciplinary team in a structured primary care setting.

The role offers flexible sessional work with morning/afternoon clinics; up to 4 days per week, with opportunities for long-term block bookings.

Qualifications

• Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate).
• V300 Independent Prescribing.
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or walk-in settings.
• Ability to work autonomously and safely.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Running minor illness and acute assessment clinics.
• Completing long-term condition reviews where required.
• Telephone triage and clinical decision-making.
• Independent prescribing and medication reviews.
• Ordering and interpreting investigations.
• Clear, accurate clinical documentation.
• Working collaboratively with GPs, Practice Nurses and HCAs.
