Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking a Locomotive Maintenance Technician / Mobile Fitter based in Derby to support maintenance, inspection and repair of locomotives and rolling stock. You will work on Class 37, 43 and 67 locomotives, performing scheduled maintenance and on-site repairs.

The role requires hands-on mechanical or electrical maintenance experience, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team within a rail environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in engineering or equivalent is required.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance is essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is important.
• Strong understanding of engineering standards and safe working practices is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance at approved maintenance locations.
• Undertake mechanical and electrical repairs on locomotives and rolling stock.
• Complete inspections, assessments and testing to ensure vehicles meet standards.
• Diagnose faults and carry out maintenance activities independently.
• Follow maintenance documentation, technical procedures and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate and detailed service records.
• Work in line with company policies, risk assessments and methods of work.
• Maintain high standards of safety and site cleanliness.
