Genesis Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to develop, document, and support electrical systems for locomotives and related equipment. You will work with mechanical, systems, and manufacturing teams to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable designs.

You will review drawings, support prototype testing, and help maintain documentation while adhering to project timelines and industry standards.

Qualifikationen

• HNC in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• Experience in electrical design, preferably within locomotives, heavy machinery, or industrial equipment.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, control systems, PLCs, and related standards.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations for electrical systems.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Technical expertise in electrical design and system integration.
• Ability to manage multiple design tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Aufgaben

• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system layouts in accordance with project requirements and engineering standards.
• Design and specify electrical components, panels, and systems, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and manufacturing teams to integrate electrical designs with overall product architecture.
• Support prototype development, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Review and update technical documentation, drawings, and bill of materials.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving electrical design or system issues during manufacturing, testing, and field service.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by proposing design optimizations and standardization.
• Ensure accurate reporting of project progress and adherence to timelines.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends, standards, and emerging electrical technologies.
