Job description

Location Solutions Consultant - Market Planning Group

27 February 2024

CACI's Location Intelligence Group provides data, software, and consulting services to help our clients make better location-based decisions.

We help clients make profitable decisions through our understanding of people and place, spatial characteristics, and consumer behaviour. Our clients include retailers, restaurant chains, leisure operators, care homes, charities, automotive manufacturers, and other operators with physical outlets in the UK and overseas.

CACI is recruiting for a Solutions Consultant within the Location Intelligence Group responsible for shaping solutions to clients’ spatial strategy questions.

As the UK’s leading Location Intelligence team, we deliver advanced spatial analysis and insights to major organisations across various sectors and countries. We provide consultancy, cutting-edge software, and the latest data to help our clients optimise their location strategies across physical and digital landscapes.

Projects typically last between a week and six months, including performance analysis, customer insight, network strategy definition, BI & visualization, and advanced AI predictive modelling. We work closely with our clients to understand their objectives, incorporate their feedback, and develop bespoke solutions to meet their business needs.

What you’ll be doing

Joining the Solution Consulting team, you will be part of a dynamic, innovative, and experienced team designing solutions to answer a wide range of strategic questions.

Every client and every day is different. You will use your experience to scope the appropriate analysis, methodology, data, and software for each client. The role is varied, working across sectors and markets in the UK and internationally, always focusing on people and place.

Our commercial team identifies opportunities and will call upon you as a Subject Matter Expert to help design solutions. You will remain involved as part of a project team as Project Director, ensuring strategic advice and recommendations meet client needs. Project teams include experts in geospatial modelling, location planning, data engineering, software, and data development, along with a dedicated project manager.

Client relationships are valued, and the applications of our solutions are broad. You will become a trusted advisor, helping clients derive value from data. You will have autonomy and support to shape our approach, including finding new ways to enhance our propositions and bring innovative approaches to market.

In this role, you will:

  • Work with the commercial team to design solutions that meet client objectives
  • Shape and scope bespoke solutions tailored to client needs
  • Communicate and explain the value of our solutions to clients
  • Present to clients and industry events as an expert and thought leader
  • Contribute to the development of our solutions and propositions
  • Become a trusted advisor helping businesses leverage data effectively

Who you are

You are an enthusiastic, energetic problem solver passionate about using data analytics to answer strategic questions. You are creative, innovative, and grounded in understanding technical possibilities and complexities. You are…

  • Curious and passionate about data and spatial analytics
  • Confident, assertive, and able to communicate with gravitas
  • A good listener who can identify what matters most to clients
  • A clear communicator who can explain complex concepts simply to senior audiences
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn, and responsible
  • Knowledgeable about spatial data and its strategic uses
  • Skilled at turning complex data into compelling stories
  • Pragmatic and creative, able to design solutions within budget and timescale constraints
  • Open-minded, applying approaches across functions like retail, operations, marketing, logistics, and finance
  • Capable of managing multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality insights

Essential qualifications and skills

  • Interest or understanding of the data science landscape and spatial data integration in client setups
  • Knowledge of the latest data science, machine learning, and AI techniques and their relevance for operators and brands
  • Spatial analytics expertise (SME)
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging at C-level
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience conducting spatial analysis in real-world applications
  • Familiarity with BI platforms (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI)

What we can offer you

We seek people who push boundaries and improve what we do. Innovation is vital; we encourage everyone to spend 5% of their time innovating and training. As part of our team, you will help us bridge the gap between data insights and market impact.

We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer, committed to diversity and inclusion, actively working to prevent discrimination based on ethnicity, age, gender, veteran status, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, or health conditions.
