Job summary

Proton is building a localization function that ships end-to-end across multiple products and markets. The Localization Lead will own the lifecycle for a portfolio—from scoping and translation readiness to go-live—coordinating Product, Design, Engineering, Marketing and Support.

You'll admin TMS/CAT workflows, manage budgets and vendor relationships, ensure culturally appropriate adaptation, and measure impact with the growth analytics team.

Qualifications

• You've owned localization projects or programmes end-to-end, including multi-workstream, multi-market launches against dates you couldn't move.
• You work in English daily (B2–C2) and you have native or professional working proficiency in at least one other language.
• You can administer TMS and CAT tools hands-on, and you know localization best practice and internationalization standards well enough to argue about them.
• You've managed vendors and freelancers against quality, turnaround and cost targets, and you've watched a spend line closely enough to catch it moving before anyone asked you to.
• You're comfortable with operational data: you define the right metrics, watch them, and change behaviour when they move.

Responsibilities

• Own the lifecycle for your portfolio—from string freeze to general availability, coordinating Product, Design, Engineering, Marketing and Support against fixed release dates.
• Run the machine by administering TMS and CAT workflows, maintaining scalable assets and go/no-go criteria for launches.
• Keep spend on track by budgeting, tracking translation costs per product/language, reconciling monthly and flagging drift.
• Build and manage the vendor bench: recruit, pre-qualify and test suppliers, maintain SLAs/NDAs, and conduct quarterly reviews with Legal/Finance as needed.
• Ensure adaptation, not transliteration: rewrite for market needs and own lifecycle email template internationalization and content logic.
• Be the reference point as the linguistics and internationalization expert for stakeholders and drive retrospectives and corrective actions.
• Ship experiments with CRO, framing localization hypotheses and segmenting funnel data by locale to improve conversions.
